About Us

Fairbanks Ocular Prosthetics, Inc. was founded in 1995 by Jeannie Fairbanks and her mother Mildred Fairbanks.

Mr. Stephen Sanders joined Fairbanks Ocular Prosthetics, Inc. in 1998 after several years of working with Mr. John Carney, founder of Carney Prosthetics.

In the spring of 2001 Fairbanks Ocular Prosthetics, Inc. moved to its present location at 1720 West End Avenue, Suite 402, Nashville, TN 37203. (see contact page for all office locations and directions)

Sadly Ms. Jeannie Fairbanks passed away in the fall of 2002. Mr. Stephen Sanders became the owner and President of Fairbanks Ocular Prosthetics, Inc. in 2003.

Mr. Sanders is the only ocularist in the world that has a Master of Fine Arts Degree in sculpture, Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ceramics, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Painting. In addition Mr. Sanders holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. Mr. Sanders brings to the field of ocularistry the highest degree of artistic skill and integrity.

Outside of serving his patients by designing and manufacturing artificial eyes, Mr. Sanders produces works of art in painting and sculpture and drawings at his private studio.
